Am I the only

Verizon customer in the Boston area experiencing dreadful slowness since yesterday? This blows. We know how helpful their customer "service" is. Thanks!

  1. In short, this has nothing to do with poor customer service, and it's nothing new. There was mild resistance to the program when it was attached the the "patriot" act, but the white house and the neocons labeled anyone against it as traitor. At the time this resonated with the american public as we were still reeling from 9.11.01. In reality, more than half the provisions in the patriot act, including the warrantless wiretap provisions, had been on the neocon wish list since the nixon era. The fascistic power brokers (cheney, perl, wolfowitz, and the american enterprise institute) seized upon the publics fear and leveraged it to erode our civil rights.

Still, the fear mongering continues. Bush and his minions insist that unfettered access is crucial to protecting america against terrorist threats. In reality, probable cause is enough to initiate surveillance, and comments from the neocons to the contrary are simply more politics of fear. Their real interest is being able to monitor communications from the political left in this country, in order to maintain their grip on power.

The neocons are fighting two wars. one against real terrorists, and one against the american proletariat. Unfortunately, they can't tell the difference.
