Like all finishes where I come up short, I have played this one over in my head 1000 times. I went first, but I stayed on the left because it was the downwind side, and with the wind, it was so slow that I couldn't believe the swarm of riders didn't come by with 100 meters to go. I should have jumped across the road and got on Graydon's wheel as soon as he came by me, but I didn't. At the end I was gaining on him again. He may have sat down and put it in the little ring not far from the line. As it was, I bet it was still under 30 kph. If you look at the finishes of the other races, lots of people are in the little ring. I remember shifting, but I don't know what it was. Probably 52x19 or so. I'm no Abdu...
